Anja is a prominent environmental scientist in South Africa, specializing in ecological restoration, environmental management, and mine rehabilitation. She has over two decades of experience in the mining sector, focusing on sustainable environmental practices.

William Macdonald
William has 18 years experience in Mine Rehabilitation, Mine Closure Planning, and the practical implementation of Closure Designs. Trained as a Geologist, William held various positions as a Mineral Resource Manager, Mine Geologist and Exploration Geologist prior to moving to Mine Rehabilitation and Closure.
Professional Roles:
- Mine Manager, MHSA 3.1(a) appointment, responsible for all aspects of a post production mine in active rehabilitation towards closure. This role included Safety Management, Stakeholder Management, Corporate and Social Responsibilities (including SLP program), Mine Rehabilitation, HR, Infrastructure Demolition and other functions integral to closure implementation.
- Surface-mine Rehabilitation Lead, a position which required developing land reclamation techniques for a Bucyrus Walking Dragline working in tandem with a fleet of large-capacity dozers. Additional responsibilities included Mine Closure planning, Financial Provision determination, Land Reclamation and Rehabilitation, and Ecological Restoration activities.
William has specialized in the cross functional integration of disciplines impacting on Mine Closure.
